Still no first message
I can't decide on a first message. I decided to consult some of my favourite blogs, like XBox4NappyRash and Bless Our Hearts, which has only made me despair because of their sheer brilliance. I think I might go for a "this is me" post. (Either that or I keep nervously sending out nonsense messages until I work up the nerve to do a proper post. Which is funny, as I have NO READERS!)

I do think every 'personal blog' needs an about me post, an introduction.
ReplyDeleteIt may change over time, but it should give a newcomer a taste of what the whole thing is about.
Mrs Moon is one of my favourites too.
You don't need to be a 'mommyblog' because you are a mother, there are plenty of aspects you can write about.
I love reading about cities, so your Paris post already caught my eye, and Antwerp is one beautiful town.
Write about what you grabs your attention, what you're invested in, and you won't go wrong.
Enjoy!
@ Xbox4NappyRash My first comment! By my favourite blogger! I could not be happier.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the about me post, but I haven't quite worked out what it should say yet. There has been a lot of typing and then deleting going on.
And thanks for the encouragement, because all last night I kept going into a cold sweat and nearly deleting the whole thing.
What? XBox is your favorite blogger? What am I? Chopped liver?
ReplyDeleteHaha. Just kidding. XBox is fabulous and I love him.
For me, when it comes to what I write about, I often just start out with the weather. Yeah. The weather. And then I shut my mind off, as it were, and just go. Most often the part about the weather gets edited because it has served its purpose as a portal to my real thoughts.
And you know what? It doesn't matter. Some of the stupidest throw-off things I've written have gotten the most response. And some of the most heart-rendingly painful ones have gotten the least.
But I write for me, mostly, and so whatever I write has to please me in some way.
Same for you- whatever you write has to please you. Otherwise, why bother?
Have fun!
@Ms. Moon - What I write is pleasing me already. I find I think about it a lot, and I like the editing - making do with fewer words, and fewer sentences. And I LOVE getting comments from my favourite bloggers! (Although it may not have been too wise to rank them. ;-) )
