My grandmother died in the night. She had a good, long life, and lots of family. She was sick the last few days, but then died in her sleep. Four of her five children managed to be there.
All week, I was sure I was seeing omens. All the deaths. Then yesterday evening, a dead blackbird in the garden.
It's not sinking in.

I'm so sorry but what a wonderful way for her to pass on to that next place.
ReplyDeleteGrief is a process and you are in your place in it. Don't doubt that.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteOh no. That is very sad to hear.
ReplyDeleteI try to take comfort from when people have lived good lives, and have their family with them, but sometimes that doesn't help either.
My sympathy, and all the best to you for the coming few days.
@Ms. Moon - Yes, it was wonderful and I have been realising that. I think the funeral will be hard, but we're all thankful for her life, and that feeling is winning from the sadness.
ReplyDelete@Christy - Thank you.
@Xbox - Thank you. We do take comfort from that.
