Normal services temporarily interrupted

My dear internet - there is going to be a post here today. It's just that I'm having a bit of a "discussion" with the old husband to see just how personal I can get.

Have you had this problem? Please tell me how you sorted it! I am to-and-froing between "I'm talking about his life, too, so he should have a say" and "to hell with it, I'm allowed to say what I want on MY OWN BLOG".

So, that's where I am today. Any opinions or advice very welcome. Actual post coming soon...

Update: The hubby won. But only because he is wise and because he was right. (I hate it when that happens.)

  1. Say EVERYTHING! Now I am too curious. Kiss.

  2. @Anonymous - Don't expect anything too major, dear. I'm talking your common garden variety personal. Not like I've been doing it with the butcher and am now moving out with the postman to have the lifeguard's baby or anything. :-)

  3. You DO have to be careful.

You MUST absolutely realise that what you write here, could be read by absolutely anyone.

Imagine the one person you would hate to read it, reading it.

Sounds odd coming from me, but it's something bloggers should realise before they do something they regret.

Having said that, I LOVE me some juicy posts!

  4. I agree with Xbox. It's funny- I started out being very uncomfortable writing about my husband and rarely did except in the most generalized way and now he says, "Aren't you going to take a picture of me doing this for the blog?"
But that's because I'm always so nice about him. Which I should be. He's great.

  5. @Xbox - Thank you for the advice. I mulled it over in the night, and I think the old hubby was right. The internet will just have to come to you for their juicy posts. ;-)

@Ms. Moon - Also thank you for the advice. I wasn't going to say anything bad about Babes, though. He's great, too.

  6. That might have sounded more harsh than intended.

The way I see it, just because it's your (or anyone's) blog, doesn't give you magic or special rights to reveal things about people that you wouldn't in real life.

Although, if they are willing participants, then great!

  7. @Xbox - Don't worry. I didn't see anything harsh in that comment at all. I thought it was pretty decent advice, in fact. And I completely agree.

  8. Josh lets me write anything...but with that gift, I try to be very respectful. I would only write something about someone that I would say to their face...never in a mean way. I learned that early.
