I'm nothing if not helpful

Okay, for those who don't know how to switch off word verification / captcha:

go to your blog settings
→ comments
→ show word verification, select "no"

My pleasure.

  1. sweet! I used it.
If I get spam, I'll turn it back on. How often would that happen? It's not like we're Nobel Bloggers and have a million followers.

  2. I am kinda loving your Captcha Campaign. Of course as a Wordpress user I have no idea what you're on about really but still, love the passion x

  3. God, no, our pleasure. Not having to try and post comments 5 times makes the day sweeter.

Oh wait, you've got this one on. Now I still have to Post Comment and verify five times. Why??

  5. @Laura Lee - Thank you so much! I hope you don't get any spam now.

@Josie - I've had to type in nonsense words on Wordpress before, I think. I do hate it with a passion, you are right.

  11. @nicola - Glad you liked it!

@michelle - That's such a nice thing to do. I've been wondering for a while if there's a gentle way to do that. I suppose this is mine. ;-)

@Meghan - Hurray for you! Of course you can say something nasty to them. In fact, it could provide you with lots of blog fodder. And you can blame me as well. It's a win-win situation.

@Countess - No, thank you, my lovely. x

  16. I've nearly stopped commenting on blogs with CAPTCHA. I'm tired of spending 20 minutes tinkering with word verification.

  17. Is captcha the same as clickcha? We love clickcha! It's like a very basic form of maths.
I had it switched off in the beginning. And got over 300 spams in one day, having to read through them to filter out my 'real' comments.

  18. It's slightly different on Typepad but I've now changed the settings so hopefully no word verification!

  19. Congrats!

Now lets get down to the nitty gritty. Can somebody tell me if I have it on?

I know nothin' about nothin' when it comes to this shit.

    Thanks. x

  20. P.S How comes you don't have a

'Couldn't tell you whether I had it on or off?'

option for those of us who are clueless! All those poor clueless women out there with captcha confusion!

P.P.S Know all about the lost in translation thing! My household is just the same.
