Picture post: a bloody eye, a long rat's tail and a skiing penguin

Ms. Moon asked for a belly picture, and who can refuse Ms. Moon anything? Not me in any case.

It was taken last week, while we were on holiday. And yes, my wardrobe gets rather girly when I'm pregnant. (I am not obsessed with my iPhone.)

Here's another photo for you: the carnaval dessert in the hotel.

(I am not obsessed with my iPhone.)

While I'm doing a picture post, I also have one of a penguin teaching my son to ski

and of my son imitating that penguin

My mother took those two photos - I tried on my iPhone, but the camera is shit. (I am not obsessed with my iPhone.)

I would show you another photo of the Bumba, but Babes euthanised it last week without warning me, so I couldn't take a picture of its crumpled state (it was still high in the sky). The Bumba is obviously angry with us now: I have a spot on my back which is rapidly developing its own ecosystem, and last week's snow has melted to reveal a fresh pile of cat poo. The Bumba is not pleased and is cruel in his punishments.

  3. My kids would have LOVED that dessert.

    You look very pretty, but my guess is Ms. Moon wants to see SKIN!

    How's that iPhone?

  4. Your belly shot is fabulous as well as feminine. I kinda hated pregnancy clothes, especially how every nice shirt had to have a bow. What the fuck is up with bows??? I had a toddler, bows were never an asset to my look.

    So, did you eat that dessert, and did it stay down?

  7. Nice bump. Carnaval dessert looks a bit scarey - hope it tasted good! Cute penguin ski=teacher. Hope you enjoy the holiday without skiing.

  8. Great bump photo, I have never posted a bump photo while pregnant and I don't know why. Maybe I should have another baby just for that purpose. Sad news about bumba.

  9. What a cute bump. Not sure about the rat's tail though. Love the penguin, mine have been taught by a penguin before too. :0)

  10. Undoubtedly a bump but an amazingly elegant one. Not sure I'm any further encouraged to take up skiing by the site of instructors in penguin costumes...

  12. in order, Cute! EWWWW! and, cute!!
    Skiing with penguins seems so ... natural! unlike that dessert... omg. Despite drawing the wrath of the Bumba myself, I must say that I had a nice chortle over your story on his demise...
    oh, shit. I think the Bumba burned my toast.

  13. @michelle - Ah. Skin. Well, I'm not sure about that. At all. I'm a bit shy that way.
    The iPhone's okay. :-)

    @GingerB - Yeah, I try not to do the bow thing either.
    I did eat the eye. It was a lovely chocolate mousse underneath that layer of powdery sugar. I gave the other part away. It was some kind of fruit juice, with candy floss and marzipan. Weird. And the mousse stayed down! (Another meal didn't, but that one did. :-) )

    @Brit in Bosnia - My secret is buying stretchy normal clothes.

    @muummmmeeeeee - Thanks. He does, indeed.

    @Victoria - I turned the holiday around after a couple of days of sulking. It got much better after that.

    @Emily O - That is a great reason to have a baby!

    @Nova - I loved the penguin, too, as did my daughter, who kept trying to go and talk to it.

    @dadwhowritesagoodcompliment - Thank you!
    And you so should get skiing. It is the most fun you can have with clothes on in cold weather.

    @Heather - A rat's tail, obviously.

    @Laura Lee - You had it coming with that toast. Be careful what you say about the Bumba.

    @Angie - Oooh, thanks!
