Middle lane hogger! You are an irritating git!
- Do you have delusions of grandeur, thinking your car is so big so you must stay in the middle?
- Do you like the feeling of cars whizzing by you on both sides?
- Are you scared of solid white lines?
- Are you just doing it to annoy everyone?
- Is your OCD so bad you must, for symmetry's sake, stay in the middle lane? (Actually, I get that.)
Middle lane hogger! I don't understand you!
- Why do you keep going 10 km/h under the speed limit?
- Why don't you take the hint when I approach you on the slow lane, cross over two lanes to overtake you in the fast lane, then cross right back over to where I was?
- Why do you not even move when I overtake you in the slow lane?

We don't have any middle lanes in Napier, thank goodness. Those idiots who drive at 80km in a 100km area are bad enough.........do they never have to get anywhere on time?
ReplyDeleteI'm a fresh driver (less than a year), so I tend to stick to right lanes. So that was definitely not me.
ReplyDeleteNot just a British thing then? Middle lane hogger doesn't even notice when you overtake, pull in front of them, wind down the window and point over at the slow lane. Actually I think middle lane hoggers notice all these things but they're grumpy and stubborn and determined to be a pain in the arse. I'll probably be like that when I'm 70.

ReplyDeleteI had some psycho whizz by me doing at least 90mph in the freaking slow lane today! Too bad they were going far too fast to see me give them the finger.

@Emily O - I have to say there are so many more of them in Britain. It seems people have just left the inside lane to the lorries, because they don't even let you out when you want to overtake.

ReplyDeleteOoh, that could be me. In my defence, you can overtake on any side here in the States, (well, Illinois at least) so it's usually the place where the slower drivers end up. Having kids in the car, and a 55 miles per hour speed limit, I rarely drive about 65. Sorry!

ReplyDelete@Ms. Moon - Yes, we do. This is the middle of Europe and it's busy here. One part of the Antwerp ring has six lanes, which all get stuck twice a day. You don't have middle lanes?

DeleteI'm a fast lane hogger, I forget to move over sometimes :0( sorry. I do also have a tendancy to whizz up the slow lane if others are hogging the middle and fast lanes :0( I'm not a good driver!
