Isn't it ironic...

  • ... that I'm so happy to be free of nappies now that Marie is potty trained? For all of a month maybe?
  • ... that I keep reaching the end of the internet and being bored now that I have slowed down sufficiently to read ALL those posts?
  • ... that I've completely relaxed about when this baby is coming now that my doctor has agreed to a possible induction in the future, maybe, if he's happy about it, in principle, but maybe not?

  1. not ironic, sounds like a change of hormones to me ... can I feel labour vibes descending upon you?
    Can't believe you really read all those posts. I don't think I'll ever get to read everything in my reader.

  2. well, the last one makes sense - sounds like you've got the support you need, so the weight's off your mind, for now.

    I wish I could think of some fabulously entertaining site for you to look at. Gone blank now though!

  3. I've been away from the internet for a whole week and know I'll never catch up.

    I love that diapers are 'nappies' in other parts of the world... its a much nicer word.

    You sound ready for this babe. Good luck.

  4. It comes from 'napkin'. I saw it referred to as that in a book I was reading the other day.

  6. Oh, I think this baby is coming! Very excited for you. And yes, the ironic part is the joy of becoming a nappy-free household, only to suddenly become awash in nappies again. But oh so teeny ones! Well worth it! Good luck.

  7. Ah, but tiny baby nappies are so much nicer than big children's nappies.....mine are still BOTH in nappies at night, I can't see an end to it. Ever.

  9. Its so hard to comment on your posts when one is holding ones breathe, waiting for baby news:-)

    In New Zealand we call them nappies.

  10. @cartside - No labour vibes yet. I am reading more posts. All maybe not. But more.

    @Jo - It is great to have the support. And paradoxically, it's making me want the induction less. I just have a feeling I'm getting more control over my own body.

    @tulpen - We call them "pampers" over here - how awful is that? There are other words, but it's a bit like the British "hoover."

    @Ms. Moon - It is. (Followed by beatific smile.)

    @fiona - I wish. Have been squatting, walking, eating curry, some other stuff. We'll see.

    @nappy valley girl - My son was in nappies at night much much longer as well. Maybe it's a girl thing.

    @Pueblo girl - Thank you!

    @Countess - :-)

  11. I think nappies is a much better name than 'diapers'. It sounds more baby-like, whereas diapers, somehow, sound more 'old-ified', if you catch my drift (you probably won't)? xx

  12. The Internet? You've reached the end of it?

    Didn't all the porn get repetitive?

    Hope things to get moving tomorrow I can only imagine how bored and frustrated you must be by this point. And yes, it's funny about the nappies...
