True Blood has come to Belgium. Next, we may get running water and paved roads. I'm already in love with the theme song. "I want to do bad things with you." Oh yeah.
So people - is this soft porn which I will get bored of after a couple of episodes, or is this Buffy for grown-ups and will I be gutted when it's finished?

I never liked it but that's just me.
ReplyDeleteOh, it just gets better and better! I think you'll like it.
ReplyDeleteNo, it's a good friend. I maintain that nothing is Buffy - there was Vampire Genre before and after Buffy, anyway, but I heart it v hard. I'm currently reading the third from last book and they're quite addictive - though somehow not as good as the series, I think.
ReplyDeleteBut enjoy, enjoy!
We all miss Spike - but Eric is a whole different blond in a black vest to love.
I read the title and thought it was going to be about Spike Milligan :D now him I do miss!!!!
ReplyDeleteHello, long-time lurker here... I think I know what you mean. Spike. Mmmh. I confessed a few days ago to some of my graduate students that I knew more about Buffy than they clearly expected. (Musical episode, anyone?) I had to discipline myself not to reveal my once huge crush on Spike.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, good luck with the baby and the rest. (I'm 32 weeks pregnant with #2 and shall try to apply your "I'm in charge here" mantra.)
Is that one of those vampire thingies? Bah. It is. Just stick to porn.
ReplyDeletei disliked spike sooo much:-) but love dthe evil buffy..jo..whats her name again? yes..faith...uhmm...:-)
ReplyDeleteWell thus far only Vampires I enjoy are the Twilight ones - I have 2 teen girls you know - even Vampire Diaries was too much for me and Buffy I never fell for, though they are addicted to such But you go ahead and enjoy your True Blood, I might just go Google it somewhere soon...
ReplyDeleteBTW, with my 2nd baby, I slept when she did. Even when it was the middle of the day. I might have gotten up 5 minutes or so before she did, but neither my babies slept through till around 22 months old or so, I was woken up every night 2x a night (and working after 3 months!) so my bit of advice for ealy babyhood mommyhood is sleep when they do. Don't vacuum or clean, just get in the sleep first. It makes life so much easier! Good luck!
Like the Furies said "Mmm, Angel!" I heart Buffy beyond reason. I watched all five seasons of Angel during my first maternity leave. Have you seen Firefly/Serenity? How could I love a space western?? But I did! I love whatever that man does. Except Dollhouse. I think I would have loved True Blood but I gave up HBO to have extra kids (!!) and I heard it differently - that the books are better, but I don't speak from experience.
ReplyDeleteSorry Buffy and Angel win for me - I starated watching it but tbh I got bored!!!
ReplyDeleteBNM
I didn't get into it myself, but have so many people around me who love, love, love it. What ever makes you sizzle and pop that's the main thing.
ReplyDeleteSandi xx
Hope all is well with Charlie
I started watching True Blood, but then my sister (the one who has HBO) moved across town and I've lost track. My other sibs still go over there and watch and they love it. I never much cared for Buffy. I like that True Blood is set in the south, and I love to see the oak trees and the swamps. I love the title song, it's a sexy, sweaty song, and it sets the mood. One thing though- the episode where she eats a pecan pie? That shit is not a delicious southern pecan pie, I don't know what it is. And the accents are hilarious.
ReplyDeleteSpike! I love Spike. Did you see the musical episode of buffy? I have the two songs Spike does in that episode on the computer and listen to them all the time. Just those two!
ReplyDeleteJeremiah and I watch True Blood, but by the end of the season I get sick of it. More sex/violence, less talking is my suggestion!
Hi Mwa Thanks for the visit..
ReplyDeleteHm... Well, not my kind of thing, so sorry. I am of no help.
ReplyDelete@Jo - Haven't seen any Eric yet. I don't generally go for blonds at all. Will be interesting to see if I agree.
ReplyDelete@Julie - Oh hi! I love a delurker! Good luck with baby #2. I found it a shocker the first month, but after that it was wonderful. Brace yourself!
@Lady Mama - Just stick to porn. Good sentence! For all my talk about porn, I have to admit to not actually liking it much. (I know, I'm a sad case.)
@Danielle - I'm going to pretend you didn't say that.
@LG - Vacuum? Clean? What is that?
@GingerB - Never seen that other series. Might have to check it out.
@Sandiart - Sizzle and pop. That makes me laugh.
@May - I was wondering yesterday if there was so much sex in it because it was in the South. A serious Flemish journalist was talking about how people in hot countries have much more sex because of the heat.
@erin - I'm going to look these up again! So much good stuff on YouTube, and when I'm on I never know what to look for. Thanks!
True Blood is fine but will never compare to Buffy. The last line Spike ever speaks - when Buffy tells his she loves him 'No you don't but thanks or saying it' is one of the sweetest, saddest lines ever. My husband & I still repeat it to each other! The musical episode is the best thing that has ever been on TV. You'll never see a song & dance routine like 'Walk through the fire' on another vampire show.
ReplyDeleteJust re-read what I wrote. I am such a geek.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm. Not a TV watcher so I guess I missed this. I AM familiar with Buffy. Can't say I watch that either. I meet enough monsters and vampires in the real world.
ReplyDeleteI DO hope it's everything you're hoping for!
