Blogger/Google warning!!!

People, WTF is up with Blogger and Google? They changed my profile, without asking me, to show my real name and email address on both my profile and comments I leave on other blogs. That was not the deal! I am SO pissed off. This may finally convince me to leave gmail and blogger. They have crossed a line. I am seething! And this is not the first time either - remember the Buzz fiasco?

Anyway, people - you may want to check/delete/whatever your accounts. What clowns!

---

And then they had the cheek to delete my two latest posts! If I was
  1. better with computers
  2. less lazy
  3. less resistant to change
I would be on Wordpress right now already.

---

I am now trying to read the posts in my reader, and half of your posts are gone, too. Arghhhh!

  1. That was Iota commenting, by the way, but it won't let me comment using my Google account, so I had to trick them into thinking I was anonymous.

  2. They have got it in for you. They're blocking your comments.

  3. Seriously? I am so shaken by this, it's ridiculous. You know - I thought part of this blogging thing was that you could be anonymous if you want. And not be forced to (haha) like you. I feel sick. Really.

  4. I wonder if there is something up with Blogger/Google today. I couldn't even get into my Blogger account this morning. Although my email address was there on the dashboard, it claimed I no longer had a blog, and suggested that perhaps I had deleted it.

Have to say though, now I've started my fiona gray . paints blog on Wordpress, I wouldn't say I exactly love it either. Rubbish stats for starters.

  8. Noooooooooooooooooooooo not again (I moved because they can delete blogs if they feel like it...) - come on over to wordpress (it even has a nifty import blog thingy to make it easy)

  9. I think they had a hiccup this morning - I kept getting a message that Blogger simply wasn't available. Neither is my bank, which frankly worries me more. I wonder if they were hit by some virus?

  10. I think they said it was an update, but given Mwa's experience I wonder if it was something more sinister.

  13. that is really bad. After only the downtime of blogger I'm very tempted to move, but like you self hosting scares me (I almost wrote scars me there...).

  15. It was SO hard for me to transfer to Wordpress, I didn't get how to do the most simple things...blogger makes everything SO easy. It took a long time to get comfortable. Now I love it so much more. I bought my site and then used wordpress, so it's not officially a "wordpress" blog. I'm a little bummed because I would love to know your real name and your children's real names (and babe's too). It's just curiousness-although I totally understand why you choose not to share-I sometimes wish I would have made that choice! I figure now it's like trying to get the horse back in the barn-is that the expression? I would love to see pictures...because I just have what I have created your family in my imagination...I'm sure it's nothing like what you actually look like!
